where can you find the price charged by the museum. Or do all tickets need to be purchsed from a reseller?
You can find that info at the museum's website or guidebook. Not sure what you mean by reseller?
Which museum? Admission prices are stated on each museums website. Why would you use a reseller? For example: http://mv.vatican.va/3_EN/pages/z-Info/MV_Info_Orari.html

A direct purchase, vs purchasing from a general site that sells tickets
And be sure to research museum passes. Depending on the city you're in, it could save you a bit and it makes it easier to deal with. The RS Italy book has tons of helpful info like this in it. Happy travels.
There really is no need to purchase from a reseller for any tickets. You can buy tickets for the colosseum/forum/palatine hill from their official seller ahead of time, book entry tickets or a tour of the vatican museums directly with them and make reservation for the Borghese gallery on their stie. Other than that, in Rome there really is nothing else you need to pre-book. There are usually no lines at the other sites so it's very easy just to walk up and buy tickets. http://www.ticketclic.it/Gb/HTML/musei/colosseo.cfm http://biglietteriamusei.vatican.va/musei/tickets/do?weblang=en&do http://www.ticketeria.it/ticketeria/borghese-regolamento-eng.asp Donna
