Museo di San Marco entry when exiting the Basilica?

I have tickets for Basilica S.Marco but not the museum. From information I've read, which may not be up to date any longer, it sounds like you can enter the museum for 5€ at the end of the tour of the basilica. Is this still the case?

If not then purchasing tickets separately beforehand? I see one combination that is The Museum and the Loggia of the Horses for 10€ and i can go at a separate time.

Traveling to Milan and Bologna in mid June and taking a day trip to Venice since we are so close!
Thanks

When we were there before Covid you could go after tour the church, no problem. When you enter the church, the museum entrance is in the right hand side, small sign. I think many people miss it. It is worth the 5€.

It was an easy add-on for me, too. That was in September 2022, and I believe Barbara as been in Venice more recently.

The 10€ fee you cite seems to be the sum of the 3€ basilica fee and the 7€ museum/loggia fee. I don't think the physical layout supports visiting the museum/loggia without also having access to the basilica.

When you leave the basilica (the sanctuary, not the building itself) go to the left in the vestibule. There’s a steep set of stairs that go up to the museum. It’s a small, but nice, museum which provides a closer view of the mosaics near the back of the church and a great view down the center of the basilica. You can also walk out onto the roof in the front of the church.

They also have the original horses in the museum. The ones outside on top are replicas.

Thanks everyone. I will definitely plan to include the museum at the end of our Basilica tour, which I have already purchased tickets and entry time…. Nice to be able to add on the museum for 5€ as we exit the Basilica. Thanks for the tips and clarification. Safe travels, all.

I think you'll find it's 7 euros rather than 5. I believe the source you're using is outdated, so it may be wrong about other costs as well.
