Has anyone been recently to the museo di San Marco in Florence during high season - and did you need to purchase tickets in advance? While I have timed tickets already to the more popular museums and churches - I’d like to go to a few places like San Marco where I don’t have to commit to a day and time - hoping I can get at the door.

My wife and I visited Museo di San Marco on 05/24/25. We had no issue buying our tickets day of, onsite.
Tip: although the museum closes at 2:00 pm, its staff ushers visitors out at 1:40 pm. Bear that point in mind - and do go!
