Murano & Burano in same day?

My family will be staying in Venice and would like to see both Murano and Burano. Is it possible to see both of these in one day? Which would you do first? And what is the best method of getting to both? Forgive me, this is our first time travelling overseas and we are inexperienced!

Also, we will need airport transportation from venice, what is the best way to get us back to the airport?

Assuming you are staying in the historic "floating" district: Take A water bus. Given the extortionate price of water cabs there is no real alternative to go to Burano and Murano.
Same for the airport, a water cab costs around 120 € (per group of 6). Otherwise, you can either take a direct water shuttle to the airport (run by a company called Alilaguna) or go to Piazzale Roma Square and get on a wheeled city bus to the airport.

Yes it is possible to see both in the same day. We did it.
Doesn't matter which you see first, but since the vaporetto stops at Murano first, we did that first and then then took the vaporetto from Murano to Burano second. (Murano is closer from Venice than Murano).

As for getting to the airport, it depends on where you are staying.
We were staying near Pizzale Roma, so the aerobus worked best for us.

For the day trip to Murano and Burano, the 1-day vaporetto pass can be less expensive than individual tickets. Also consider a multiple day vaporetto pass for your entire stay in Venice, as buying tickets for each vaporetto trip (especially for travel on the Grand Canal) can be expensive. The vaporetto is the water bus referred to above.

Definitely get the multiday vaporetto pass.

It makes no difference which order you visit. I did Burano first and I liked that by doing Murano last. it was just a short ride back to the hotel
