MP3 player for Rick's Italian museum tours

What MP3 player have you used these on where you can have 2 people listen at once? I bought an iPOD shuffle 3, and it works fine for one, but when I add the splitter, it won;t work at all. Now I find out that it only works with the iPOD headphones directly. There must be an inexpensive mp3 that will work for sharing.....Thanks. Barb

Hmm, our shuffle works with a splitter, which version shuffle are you trying to use? We also had a 3rd gen ipod with us when we were there, easier to see the pauses with that.

Weird on the shuffle - You can get used 30GB ipods online for cheap.

One recommendation for Rick's tours specifically though - get an MP3 player WITH a screen. (Personal experience). Scrolling through a bunch of tracks while pushing the "next" button with no read out, then having to listen to the first 5 seconds to see which one it it, then going to the next one, etc, is frustrating.

We wound up putting that player away, and using the Ipod30GB with a splitter.

The tours themselves are GREAT though, and I highly recommend! :)

Do other brands of MP3 players work well w/ the podcasts and if so, does anyone have any recommendatons? How large a memory do we need to download the podcasts available for our trip to Venice, Florence, Rome? We already have an iPod w/ music on it but would rather get a separate one just for our trip.
Thanks,
Terry and Jeff

One question about Mp3 players. I have one (Sony Walkman, which I would highly recommend) that can only be charged by connecting a USB cord to the computer. I asked customer support and there is no other way to charge it. A full charge is supposed to last 8 hours so it should be enough to listen to Rick's tours but it would be nice to have the ability to charge it if needed. Are there computers you can plug it into in hotels for a couple of hours or is there another way around this?
