We would REALLY appreciate hearing about your experiences/advice regarding our upcoming move from Tuscany back to Toronto. To date, we have received very mixed reviews on Italian Movers, with a lot of cautions. We have been told to be very careful about web reviews. Best, Jim
Jim,
Moving back from Bella Toscana back to Toronto will be a bit of a culture shock.
A few thoughts.....
- How much gear are you moving - large furniture items or mostly just smaller stuff?
- What moving firm did you use when you moved to Italy?
- One thought that occurred to me is that you might contact the Canadian Embassy and find out which moving firms they use when moving employees.
Good luck!
Thank you for your prompt reply!
We are going to need to pack the equivalent of a 40-foot container.
Moved to Italy in 2007 from the U.S. using our helpers at both ends.
Canadian Embassy in Rome elected not to reply to our email re "referral" - Italian Mover. Gracie anchor! Jim
I am wondering if Allied International Movers has an association with an Italian company. They are a very reputable Canadian firm specislizing in moves to almost anywhere in the world. Maybe they can recommend a company in .Italy at any rate. Good luck.
james,
Are you U.S. citizens? You could perhaps pose the same question to the U.S. Embassy in Rome. You might send a PM to Laurel, as she has some recent experience in moving to & from Italy.
Thanks to both Norma & Ken for their suggestions. Allied tip will be followed up on.
Hi James. We had good experience with both Bliss and Bolliger International. Both have been (are?) used by the U.S. Embassy. Costo molto however!
