Hi All,
Does the Mouth of Truth still could be visited on 25th Dec as it's in the portico of St Maria Cosmedin which is a minor basilica and I believe would be closed on 25th Dec?

The website says the winter hours are 9:30-5:00 and doesn't note any closed days.

Even if the portico is locked, you can still get a good view of Bocca della Verita through the iron fence. This photo was taken from outside after hours, through the bars.

i guess it would feel different if i could put my hand on the mouth :D well i think the fence does close on the 25th. i might save it for next trip then.

This was one of the surprise factor in my itinerary. i thought that it'd be closed by that day but not only it's still opened but there's a long queue of tourists wanting to get picture with it! love it..looking at the real thing is not the same by just looking at the pict
