My husband loves biking and is skeptical about going to Lago Maggiore. Can anyone recommend a bike tour or maybe a trail that he can rent a bike and enjoy? Would be much appreciated.

I don't know much about biking around lake Maggiore, but you can certainly find some suitable bike routes along the Ticino river:

If he likes biking, then your husband might decide to move there forever. Half of the Italian greatest bikers in history come from that area. There are plenty of bike itineraries and they even came up with the concept of bike hotels where you can stay along the various itineraries.
