We (family of four, two teenagers) will be in Sicily in the second week of August and would like to do a Mt. Etna trip. Normally we would have chosen the more strenuous hiking trips as we have done challenging hikes as a family before but my wife is recovering from surgery and don't want to risk her getting fatigued. She can probably do an easy walk/hike for an hour but more than that would be risking it.
The Jeep 4x4 tours seem attractive but it isn't clear how many places we will stop and walk around and neither is it clear whether the South or North route would be better for a Jeep tour.
If anyone has had luck with the Jeep tours please provide recommendations. We will be staying at Delta Hotels Giardini Naxos our hotel is about 15 km from the center of Taormina.
Thanks!
