Motorboat tours around Capri

Hello. I have read that there are 1 1/2 hour motorboat tours that take you around Capri for about 14 Euro. However, when I google, I only find private tours which sound very nice but are in the 140 Euro range for a 2 hour tour. Once you get to Capri, do you find these less expensive tours available at the Marina? Thank you!

There are larger boats that do tours around the island. They take 30+ people and thus are fairly cheap, probably under 20 Euro/person. If you hire a private motorboat it will be a bit more. When you come off the ferry there will be captains waiting to pitch those private boat tours. We did it that way and paid 100 Euro for our family of 4 and went all around the island. It took about 2 hours and was one of the best things we did on our entire vacation. Even with only broken English and hardly any Italian on our side the additional information we got from "our" captain was interesting as well.

We did the Blue Grotto while in Capri and you get a breathtaking boat ride around the island to get there. Can't remember what the price is. YOu will also pay a fee once you get to the grotto entrance. Was a stunning day when we were here so glad we did it.

If you have 1 full day on Capri during a crowded summer month, would you recommend doing the boat trip before or after walking the island? I heard the morning was less crowded on the island.

Hello April,
The motorboats your looking for are in the harbor where you arrive at Marina Grande. About the size of a Atlantic City New Jersey fishing head boat. It was a great trip around the island. The captain took his time going thru rock cut outs in the bay and backed into several grottos (not the famous Blue Grotto) and we viewed the lovely mansions built on the side of the rock island (take a pair of binoculars). Well worth the 14 euro spent. Send me your email to my richsteve's private message account and I'll send you some. I took a ton of pictures to that excursion. Jim
