Most recent Schengen visa a few months ago- need to visit in person again?

Hi!

I have an Indian Passport, with a Valid US H-visa. I recently went to Germany (Apr 2017) and got fingerprinted at the interview (Mar 2017). I plan to Visit Italy In August and wondering if I can send in my documents through mail? I've been trying to get through to the Italian Consulate all day to confirm this.

If I do have to appear in person here... are there any other Schengen countries that I can apply by mail? Traveling to SFO for every visa from Seattle will add up very quickly! I am open to other destinations in Europe as this will be a vacation.

Thanks!
CVS

PS: My older Schengen Visa is expired now.

I am not sure this is a good site for that question. Most of the responses here will be guessing. Are there any consulates in Seattle? You are going to have to get that info direct from the Italians. Good luck.

I don't think you need to appear in person. But you can start from here:

If you have questions, I suggest you contact them via email. I sometimes have to contact them for one reason or another. Although I am often at my corporate office in SF, I try to avoid to go there to the Consulate in person because parking in Pacific Heights totally sucks (beautiful view of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate though). Even when I go in person, I can't do anything without making an appointment first. They do everything by appointment there. Calling them doesn't work because they never answer the phone, but the email works, and I always receive a response within a few days. Most of the people there are nice and helpful. And in the unlikely even you need to show up, once you have an appointment, they are really efficient and fast.
This is the email address for the visa matters:

Thank you, I finally did manage to get through to the Italian consulate- it looks like I would still have to visit in person since I have an Indian passport . Quite annoying since during my Germany visa interview I was told that you only need to be fingerprinted and interviewed once in 5 years. I assumed all schengen countries follow one procedure.

Now to find schengen countries that do allow mail in applications 😄

Thanks for your help!
