My husband and I plus another couple are flying to Milan in late April. We will eventually join a tour group in Como. We are thinking of going directly to Como on arrival at Malpensa, Milan, and want yo know what the best direct transit option is to get from Malpensa Airport to Como.
Go to http://www.rome2rio.com, plug in our departure point and arrival city, and you will get all of your options.
The easiest is a car service or cab. You can take a train but that will require a change.
Are you actually going to the city of Como?
With another couple to split costs, a taxi or transfer to Como seems to be the best option, taking less than 1 hour; you are looking at about €100 (+/- 20%) to Como town.
Otherwise, you can take the train from the airport to Saronno, and change there for Como Nord Lago. That takes about 1.5 hours, I am unsure about the price.
There isn't a direct public transport connection from Malpensa to Como as far as I know.
By train the best option is go to Milano (or another intermediate station) than a connection to Como (www.trenitalia.com). On the Trenitalia website you can find all solutions.
A second option is go to Varese with TILO (https://www.tilo.ch/), than a connection to Como.
We always used a driver service to go from MXP to Bellagio north up the lake. I also agree with train information given.
