more on trains. Zurich to Como

We are entering Italy by train from Zurich to Como in early October. It is not a long trip and we want to really enjoy the scenery. Is the Cisalpino too fast to do so? Should we take a slower train and which do we choose? I also find the Trenitalia site confusing but I think so much to organise has made my brain "hurt".

There are two types of Cisalpino trains. One is the EuroCity (EC) train. It is one of the faster trains. It doesn't make too many stops. Faster yet is the Cisalpino Pendolino Tilting train. On the Trenitalia train category column, I believe that this train is shown as "cis" and not "EC". This train actually tilts and leans into turns so that it can go faster. It cost a bit more as well.

The route shown actually covers the same tracks as the William Tell Express. So if you want to go slower, you can take a regional Swiss train from Zurich to Luzern and jump on the W.T. Express down to Lugano and then jump back on another train to Como San Giovanni (if that's your stop). Your choice.

I assume the route is the same which ever train you take. If that is the case then the scenery isn't going to change, it's just going to go past a little quicker. Personally I'd take the faster train, I really doubt you will miss much if anything.

We took the Cisalpino train from Venice to Basel, Switzerland earlier this month. It's an absolutely gorgeous ride, and the speed is just fine to enjoy the scenery.
