More Capri-Amalfi coast suggestions

To follow up a previous report on Sorrento, where we used the good Sorrento City Hotel, I can add that we found our mid-October 4-day stay at the Capri Hotel in Capri was all we expected, and more. We had used it before, but hadn't seen it since its last renovations, and found it even better. The location is superb in Capri town, steps from all the local buses, to Anacapri and the Blue Grotto,; from the famous "Piazzetta" or Little Square, and from the funicular to the main arrival harbor, Marina Grande. Not all rooms have seaviews, or bathtubs, (we switched to one of those later, at no extra cost) But all were clean, comfortable, and well cared for. Great breakfast, with fresh cappuccinos or lattes. Friendly reception staff offered good English and helpful tips, including one for the Verginiello restaurant across the street, a moderately-priced place for pizza and everything else. A 4-star hotel for 90 euros a night! After a 30-minute Capri-Positano ferry, and a few minutes walking up from the beach to Positano's centre, just steps from SITA and Gioia buses, we stayed at the well-located Hotel Savoia. Again, not all rooms have seaviews, but we had good town views, a spacious patio, and even a living room with fridge and TV, for 100 euros a night. From Positano we proceeded to Praiano, staying at the La Perla hotel, well deserving its name (The Pearl, in Italian.) Our room balcony faced the sea, the coast, and an ancient Saracen tower, and had all we needed: fridge, TV, a bathroom with tub/shower, all neat and clean. La Perla is a short walk downhill to the local beach with its boating services and many bar-restaurants, including the cute Il Pirata, partially built in a cave, and is a stop for buses to Amalfi, or Sorrento. Good breakfasts, and also offers restaurant service in the evening. We paid 103 euros a night. Friendly reception staff, with good English and information. Enjoy!
