Using this town as a base for 4 days, then on to Florence.
Any must see sights or activities, so two great teens don't get over saturated with cathedrals. Thanks
Have you considered touring Florence first, and then moving to the countryside? The big city would give you some perspective of the area and "frame" the picture for what you're going to see. Tuscany/Chianti is best toured via rental car. You could pickup the rental car in Florence as you're leaving town. Siena is easiest visited by bus from Florence on a day trip. The city is somewhat congested, and parking is very difficult which makes the bus the better way to see it. We visited Certraldo, Volterra, San Gimignano, Orvieto and Bagnorelo/Civita last Easter. Then we went into Rome.
Thanks David,
We will be in Venice before. What was your weather like last Easter, we will be traveling about the same time. I heard something about a monetary where the monks still sing, do you know of that.
Of course I meant monastery
Jeff, David is in Florence, Alabama, not Florence, Italy.
