My family and my brothers family will be spending a month in Lucca with our young kids (ages 4, 4, 7, 7) and plan to take a few day trips as well as a few longer ones. We’re thinking of Venice, Rome and Lake Como for the 3-day trips as well as all the small Tuscan villages and seaside resorts for day trips (and bologna for food!). That being said any recommendations for:
1) Beachside resorts within 30-40 minutes of Lucca?
2) Lake Como? I’ve been to Venice and Rome a few times so we’re covered there.
3) Good nanny/sitter service.
4) Car services? We’re debating a rental van (will need an 8-seater) or hiring a service when we go on the day trips.
5) Kid friendly activities in and around Lucca.

From Lucca, Viareggio beach town. Montecatini Terme/Alto funicular to top of town lower town has some interesting fountains. Barga Devils Bridge. Collodi Pinocchio theme park Castel. Pisa Leaning tower. All are under 32 minutes by car. All have train access. Would recommend a car for some of these.
Como, islands and ferry rides.
