Montessoro (Cinque terre) hotel recommendation

Hi-
Im looking at 3 nights in June in Montessoro and have narrowed it down to Villa Steno or Locanda il Maestrale. Any comparisons or suggestions between the two?

Chris:

I have stayed at Hotel Villa Steno and enjoyed it. The place is very clean and the service was good. They put out a nice breakfast too. I am happy to recommend it to others. I haven't stayed at Locanda il Maestrale.

On our last trip to Italy in '07 we could not get in to Hotel Villa Steno so we stayed at Hotel Margharita. It is a nice, newer hotel. It was a bit more than I like to spend but I would recommend it as well. Have fun.

I am also looking to stay for a quick, on-the-way-out visit to the CT in late June. Can you say if I am being realistic to arrive from Florence early the 29th, spend the full next day at the CT, and get to Malpenza the following day (Wednesday)for a noon flight? I am thinking it's do-able. Thx guys.

Chris--Villa Steno is a great hotel. As mentioned below, clean, nice sized rooms with one of the best breakfasts I've had in Italy. Small lot makes parking a snap if driving.

Locanda il Maestrale is a wonderful place on Via Roma, the main drag, just a few blocks up from the beach. A stunningly gorgeous balcony/breakfast space, and beautiful rooms. BUT be sure to test the air conditioner in your room. Ours, last summer, just pumped out hot air...very, very warm. But the other guests we spoke with were perfectly cool in their rooms. I would stay here again, but would test the air--for cold air--before accepting the room.
