Monterosso to Genoa to Paris

What would a wise man do...?
For the final leg of my trip I'm going to Paris where I started two weeks prior. I have a train from Monterosso (10:07am) to Genoa (taking approximately 1 hr 35 min.) to catch the plane to Paris (1:30pm). However, the trains need to run on time for me to arrive safely at the airport 1 1/2 hours early to make a flight that puts me in Paris at 3:00pm. OR do I take a later flight and arrive in Paris at 7:25pm missing the daylight hours with my girl friend who didn't go to Paris originally? BTW we leave Paris the next day at 7:10pm.

Additionally...
A. Is Genoa worth an afternoon relaxed stay to avoid heroics to get to the airport....OR
B. Should I do everything possible to get to Paris and get out of Genoa?

carl,

The flight is going to be the most difficult and expensive thing to change, so if you're concerned about not arriving at the airport in time, taking an earlier train would seem to be the easiest solution.

In order to easily connect with transportation to the airport, which station you use in Genova will be important. The 10:07 departure you mentioned arrives at Genova Nervi, which may not have as many airport transportation options. It's the station that's farthest from the airport. Hopefully Roberto or one of the others can confirm that.

In the same situation, I'd probably use a train departing Monterosso at 07:36, arriving Genova Piazza Principe at 09:23 (time 1H:47M, current fare €6.80 PP, Regionale so DON'T forget to validate prior to boarding the train on the day of travel). From Genova P. Principe you can use the VolaBus Airport Shuttle. After arrival in Genova, you'll need to add about 45 minutes (including walking to the bus and waiting times) for the trip to the airport but you should arrive there about 10:30 or so.

As you only have about one day in Paris (a very romantic city) with your girl friend, I'd strongly suggest getting there as soon as possible. Don't waste time in Genova!!!!

Go to Genova Piazza Principe. It's the main station with all transportation you need to the airport. Less than 20 min and you are there. Also much closer to GOA than Nervi. There are other stations that are closer ( Sestri Ponente) but those are commuter stations with less train service.
Forget about Genoa. Go to Paris.
