Monterosso this week

It's here, the final week of my first European vacation. Thanks to all who have helped me plan and make the most of my adventure. I'm currently sitting on my patio drinking a beer and listening to the crashing waves.

Good friends of mine told me not to bother bringing oil/balsamic back but I'm a sucked for buying stuff... Is there any jarred pesto worth bringing home? Wine (under 20 euro) Im staying in the hotel Villa Steno until Saturday.

If you are in Monterosso now, go to old town. On the main street you will find Ciak restaurant on the left and their store on the right. They have great pesto. Although, you can probably get pesto anywhere there.

That is too funny I just got back from having pesto there and it WAS good! I'm staying in old Town. The place was busy and the seafood looked fabulous I just wasn't in the mood yet.

Debbie,

I can well appreciate what a great time you're having in Monterosso, and especially at Villa Steno (which is perhaps my favourite hotel in all of Europe). I usually have a Prosecco when I'm sitting on the balcony enjoying the view. The owners are such wonderful people!

Have you tried any of the other restaurants besides Ciak? If not be sure to try L' Alta Marea also (it's close to the bottom of the stairs leading to Villa Steno), and of course Cantina di Miky. I really like Fast Bar for lunches and their Linkin Park Panino is one of my favourites.
