Monterosso (on short notice)

We are looking to head towards Monterosso as part of our honeymoon in early August. We are looking at a Sun-Wed stay.

Any suggestions on how to tackle accommodations would be appreciated. Given the time of year I'm a little reluctant to just show up and hope to find a rental.

I've only picked Monterosso based on the fact that we are kind of young and Rick recommended that town as a little more happening at night. However I could be convinced otherwise.

My ideal place would be a double with a dedicated or shared terrace over looking something. . .

This is the last stop on a trip of Murren > Varenna > Venezia > Cinque Terre

I hope I'm not totally out of luck!

Patrick, for online reservations, you probably are. However, many small places in the CT do not advertise or have websites. When you arrive at the train stations, you see very sweet older Italian women trying to direct you to a room that they have for rent. Posters have reported great finds staying in a place with just 1-2 rooms. Secondly, when we were in the CT, Monterosso had a storefront office to assist people in finding rooms as again, many places don't have websites. If you do either of these methods, do it in the morning as any opportunities will be gone by late morning.

Thanks. I just emailed Paula about a boat ride, so I will follow up on lodging as well.
