Monterosso Ferry Trip

My wife and I will be hiking from Vernazza to Monterosso first thing in the morning. We will then spend the day touring Monterosso. I've read that a ferry ride from Monterosso is a good way to get a great view of Cinque Terre from a different point. So I'm thinking we will take that back to Vernazza. Does anyone know where exactly the ferry departs from Monterosso? Also, where we will go to buy tickets from the ferry? All I can find is that you can buy daily tickets, but we will just need a one time pass I'm thinking, so is that an option?

Tyler,

The boats dock at a concrete jetty in the old town. When you exit the tunnel, turn right at Hotel Pasquale. As I recall there are ticket booths on the way to the location where the boats dock. A few photos will provide a clearer idea of the layout. THIS photo shows the first part of the jetty which continues to the left, while in THIS photo you can see the boat in the distance at its docking location.

Tyler, the ferry is a great way to see the five towns (except that Corniglia is up on a cliff). But, if the seas are rough, the ferry won't run. We were there 3 days and finally on the 3rd day, we were able to take the ferry from Monterosso to Portovenere for lunch. But, the seas were rough enough that the ferry would not pull into any of the other four towns. It would come in close for great pictures as the weather was fantastic but it wouldn't dock.
