I am trying to get a room on September 7 in Monterosso or Vernazza. I called about 10 different places, and all said no rooms are available. However, on my last phone call, the person said most places will not rent for one night. We are open to staying 2 nights though, but I did not know that this was a requirement. Is it possible that I was rejected due to the 2 night minimum? Or it is probably true that all rooms are booked. I called most of the places from the Rick Steves book in Monterosso. I called 1 or 2 places in Vernazza. Thanks!
You would be surprised on how many travel destinations in the U.S. have a 2-night stay requirement. If not all week, at least Fri & Saturday. We ran into this requirement in Venice. It's not surprising that some places in the CT would do this. Most won't put this on their websites; they just turn you down.
We stayed at the Hotel Margherita in Monterosso this summer and there was a two night minimum. It was lovely though!
