Monterosso al Mare

Hey Guys,

My wife and I are looking for a "nice" room with a great view and balcony. We don't mind walking up stairs at all. Normal Rick priced rooms but would like to hear all suggestions if worth it.

Regards,
Jeremy

Jeremy,

When are you planning to travel there? My favourite hotel there (and perhaps in all of Europe) is Hotel Villa Steno. I'm not sure what you mean by "normal Rick priced rooms"? Whatever the cost, Villa Steno is worth it (IMO).

I second Villa Steno. Nice people - great views. I loved staying in Monterosso. The market there is great.

I stayed here Marvit Affittacamere in May 2016 and thought it was wonderful.
Can read reviews and book with Booking.com

We just left Villa Steno on our Best of Italy tour and loved it too! The people running it were the nicest yet, the rooms were big and beautiful, and they had great terraces. We were on the lowest level and it still had a nice view. We would go back there again in a heartbeat

Villa Steno is great!! Yes, it is up the hill, but the views are spectacular.

We stayed at Hotel La Spiaggia right on the water. It came with a great breakfast and very friendly host. This hotel is in Rick's book as well. We needed and asked for 2 rooms with a balcony and view and we got both of them! I think Steno was booked when we tried ro make a reservation so we were very happy with this one.

I have to agree with many of the others and say that the Hotel Villa Steno my favorite. Great views from the rooms, nice roof terrace and fantastic breakfast buffet. You need to book well in advance, as it's very popular!

The Hotel Villa Steno was my favorite hotel on our RS Best of Italy Tour. I really recommend Room 6 if you can request a room.

Another vote for La Spiaggia. The rooms are small and furnishings are simple but you can't beat the location and view (must request a sea-view balcony room). Easy walk from the train station and some very good restaurants, and it has a lift. Good breakfast and great hosts.

Jeremy,

There's a good reason why Hotel Villa Steno is often the No. 1 rated hotel in Monterosso on Trip Advisor. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast buffet is great and above all, the owners are wonderful people.

If you can't get a booking at Villa Steno, try their sister property, Hotel Pasquale (owned by the same family and usually the No. 2 rated hotel on Trip Advisor). You'll also need to book well in advance to get a room there.
