Has anyone ever visited Asolo or Treviso? I want to go Prosecco wine tasting (along with their other varietals)on the "Montello & Asolo Hills wine route but can't find a wine route map on any of the dozens of webpages I looked at yesterday. I found a map of the nearby Strada del Prosecco e Vini dei Colli Conegliano Valdobbiadene but none of the former area which is much closer to us. Anyone have any knowledge of this wine region and how to find a wine route map?
THe Prosecco DOC region is centered around the area between Valdobbiadene and Conegliano. So if you are interested in Prosecco then the Prosecco road between the two towns would be you best bet.
If has been established for a long time and there are several spots to sample and eat along the way.
www.prosecco.it is the consortium.
Valdobbiadene is only about 45 minutes from Asolo, which is a lovely town in and of itself.
The Prosecco road area is in my opinion a bit more scenic as you are starting to rise off the Veneto Plain.
Thanks, Ron. I had hoped to do both starting in Conegliano and ending in Asolo but, like I said, I could only find a wine route map of the Strada del Prosecco. Are there any cellars in or around Asolo? The castle will be closed the day we arrive so I wanted to taste some wine there and have lunch. Thanks
