Monte Oliveto Maggiore taxi?

How can we get to Monte Oliveto Maggiore from Buonconvento without our own car (and not by walking)? According to Rome2Rio, there are two "taxi" companies serving Buonconvento, both seem to be private drivers: Benigni Umberto and Autotrasporti F.Lli Mencattelli. Rome2Rio also lists drivers from Siena. Anyone have any experience with this? Is it necessary to have the driver wait at the Abbey while I tour, or can I call a car when I'm ready to leave the Abbey. Thanks.

If you are staying in Siena take a private driver tour from Siena to Monte Oliveto Maggiore. You are not going to find taxicabs in those small towns, at most they have private drivers a.k.a. Noleggio Con Conducente (Car Hire with driver) or N.C.C. Unlike taxicabs, NCC drivers are at your disposal for the length of the car hire (for example 4 or 6 hours). The fare includes an amount per km (about 2€/km on average) plus an hourly charge (it varies and can be negotiated, usually about 30€ to 50€ per hour).

Google “Siena NCC” or “Siena Noleggio Con Conducente” and you’ll get plenty of hits. You can certainly get a taxi in Siena to take you there, but you need arrangements for the return. Siena taxis cannot be dispatched outside the municipality and Monte Oliveto Maggiore is in the Municipality of Asciano, so you need pick up arrangements with a private NCC that can be with you for the entire trip or an organized tour, even a small group with a van.
