Anyone been there? I tried looking at trip advisor and expedia to look at hotels, they tell me that all are unavailable for the time we'll be there, sept 28-29th(i think) but i can't imagine they are all booked. any suggestions to find available hotels? RS doesn't cover that region in his Italy book. We want to stay as close to the base as possible. Probably Breuil-Cervinia. Thanks everyone!!

That is a pretty remote area, mainly for skiing and hiking (in the summer). Late September is kind of off-season, so most of the hotels probably take a break then. That, rather than full bookings, is likely the reason for lack of availability. Or they may just not be taking bookings yet---not at all uncommon for smaller places in Italy. They are probably busy with ski season right now and will think about summer/fall later. I thought I did come up with one that was open at that time on your other thread? (I confess I don't know how to go back and find a previous post after it has disappeared off the first page).

Thanks again Lola, I reread the other before i posted this, maybe i missed the hotel :) I was wondering if maybe it was too far out on the calendar. I'm just not really patient and way too much of a planner to have wanted that to be the answer. but...i guess i'll have to wait. and hope that that is the situation. I'd hate to get there and have them full or all closed. Guess it would make for a really quick trip though
