monte cassino

This is probably worse than no answer but here goes - when I drove there 3 or 4 years ago I happened to notice bus stops on the road from the autostrada into Cassino, then was looking up (nearly straight up) towards the abbey and saw a bus. Does it go up the hill - dunno. I will say it really is pretty much straight up. My Dad was involved in some of the very early action there. It is guarded parking. You should tip approx. lit 2,000.Public bathrooms+ are available near the parking area (outside the Abbey) for a fee of approx. lit .500. Visit the Polish cemetery which you will see just before you arrive to the Abbey (at the top of the mountain).
