Montalbano film locations

Can't help with a hotel, but I sure hope you do a trip report here on the forum about it. I love all the Montalbano books. I've only seen a couple of the series.

Stay in his house. It's a B&B.

We stayed in Ragusa Ibla and visited his house and other Montalbano sites from there. Some of the scenes were filmed in Ragusa Ibla so it was fun to walk by them for a few days. One day we were sitting on a bench and struck up a conversation with a woman. It turned out she was an American who in her youth had studied in Italy, married and stayed there. She had been married to the actor who played the news announcer that was friends with Montalbano (can't remember his name). She was married to him at the time of the filming (though she said they were now divorced) and commented on what a nice person Luca Zingaretti was.

in scicli you can visit the vigata police station set from where montalbano and his crew investigate the local goings on. it is on the ground floor of the scicli town hall. you can also walk through the actual mayor's office which doubles as the office of the chief. love the series. watched them all. for me 'Montalbano sono' is as evocative as 'bond, james bond'.
