We are taking the Bernina Express from St. Moritz area to Tirano and then boarding a train for Varenna and then ferry to Bellagio. Does anyone know of a bank to get euro in Tirano or in Varenna or Bellagio?
Use this: http://visa.via.infonow.net/locator/global/ (Ignore the fact that it says Visa, they're just ATMs.)
You do know that the cheapest way to get euros is by using an ATM, right?
and that banks charge a substantial fee if they are willing to do it. And, besides, carrying a lot of US cash to exchange is a pain.
Marissa, in direct response to your question, yes there is a bank in Varenna. It is located on the main square of the town and it has an ATM - the only one in town. In Bellagio, there is also a bank on the main street along the lake.
Thank you all very much. Yes we are going to get euro from the ATM machine. It seems to be the best way and we have researched all the charges!!! Varenna and Bellagio seem small and I am glad to know there is a bank. So thank you all for responding!
FWIW, I remember there being two ATMs in Varenna, but that was eight years ago.
Yes, there are at least two ATMs in Varenna. Deutsche Bank has the one mentioned in the square and there is another one at the other end of town on the main road not far from the train station and the ferry landing.
