Is it best to get your euros before you go or just change over there? Also is there any problems using credit cards to buy gifts etc??

Pam - get your Euros from an ATM in Italy. There is no problem using credi cards to buy gifts etc. at places that take credit cards. We found AmX to be taken less frequently in Italy than in some other countries.

I always get a couple hundred Euros from my bank before I go and the rest I get along the way as I travel from ATMs. This is a personal preference. I like having money with me when I arrive so that I don't have to go to the ATM as soon as I arrive.
