Money belt or Eagle Creek Leg Stash?

Hi, I have used Money Belt in the past. We ended up putting our passport in a ziplock to prevent it from getting wet in the summer heat. It is kind of uncomfortable to use in the summer. I read about the Leg Stash and have gotten one at REI . I am thinking of using it this time.

I bought one decades ago but never really used it. I have trouble getting my socks to stay up so I was concerned I'd have trouble with it slipping down. I didn't want to cut off circulation by having it too tight either. Try it out at home and see if it works for you.

That's totally personal preference. I always wear a money belt, but I certainly wrap the contents in plastic. I wear it with the pouch at the back - much more comfortable. Since Rick starting making his money belts with two compartments I've switched to Lewis N Clark single compartment belts.

For a pouch that doesn't rest against your skin (as much, anyway), we like the 'Hidden Pocket' style (from Eagle Creek, and now RS sells a similar product). Eagle Creek used to sell them with a diaper pin included; if they don't anymore, I highly recommend taking one or more with you. You can pin the straps to the inside of your waistband, your pants' pocket, run your bra through one of the straps (so that it hangs vertically against your stomach), pin it horizontally OR vertically, etc. If it's pinned, you can move it around to where it's more comfortable (for instance, when sitting you can slide it up, down, over). Always keep a ziploc in your 'moneybelt' (I use that term loosely); it comes in handy, whether it's perspiration, rain, etc. I'd think to wear the Leg Stash high enough that it's not seen when sitting would be uncomfortable...for me...

Glad to see folks recommending using a zip-lock bag inside their money belts. I had forgotten all about recommend that when I have replied to folks questioning the use of money belts. I use one, or two, inside my RS money pouch every summer now. Sure helps keep things nice and dry.

Thanks Eileen, I will look into the Hidden pocket. I see that RS is selling them.

I bought a hidden pocket after someone here recommended it, and I would not be without it now. I used to have a leg belt, but it kept sliding down around my ankle. It was also very uncomfortable. Maybe you will have better luck with your version.

Thanks Roy, when I look at the picture it seems that it will be more comfortable than the moneybelt or the leg stash. I guess the ideal way is to wear a belt but if I don't , I have to try Eileen's suggestion.
