are there any good WWII sites in Rome?

ben, Could you elaborate on your description of "good WWII sites"? I believe there's a large military Cemetery in Rome, but I don't recall which part of the city it's in. One historically significant site that comes to mind is the Ardeatine Caves (Fosse Ardeatine), which are located in the outskirts of the city near the Catacombs of St. Callixtus. Check Wikipedia for details of the history (I'd rather not describe them here). The Memorial consists of the Caves, a large Mausoleum and a small Museum, which is behind the Mausoleum and uphill (displays are all in Italian). You can reach the Memorial site by Bus, but I'd have to check my notes for the route details. There's an interesting story behind the capture of one of the perpetrators, which involves Sam Donaldson of ABC News. As a result of the TV coverage, the individual was brought to justice, and is now serving his life sentence in Rome. One final question - why is this Thread titled "Money"? That doesn't seem to fit your question. Happy travels!
