I discovered today that the Mondo Guide tours recommended for the Amalfi Coast and Capri tours in the Rick Steves 2021 Italy edition are considerably overpriced compared to others that are offered in Sorrento.
For instance, the cost per person tomorrow for a boat tour to Capri was 140 Euros compared to www.jollyrent.com, which is 60 Euros/person. Quite a cost savings!
My husband and I also booked an Amalfi Coast tour through Mondo Guide today. The cost was $70 Euros/person. Our driver informed us as we began our journey that she was not a tour guide. Although she was a very competent and safe driver, she did not speak English and did not offer any advice or suggestions on sights to see or things to do. We also had to pay cash, no credit cards accepted.
I regret that I didn't have time to check out Rick Steves 2023 book on Italy as it might have been updated and removed Mondo Guide recommendations.
So buyer beware: look at multiple sites and compare costs before choosing any services.
