Has anyone done Mondo Tours. Specifically the Amalfi Coast. We're going to be in Sorrento September 4-8 and was going to Amalfi in a day trip one of those days. We figured go down by Ferry and back up by bus. But, on another thread it sounds like it could be crowded and not a pleasant travel experience. The Mondo Tours sounds good, but didn't want to pick a day and not know the weather. If anyone has used this tour, it might help me make up my mind.
We haven't yet- but have booked that same tour for October using the Rick Steves partnered part of Mondo Tours. We got an email from Rick Steves Europe about their new partnership with Mondo Tours and we've read great things on TripAdvisor. We booked for the end of October and our tour is already booked with the max of 8 people. I'd love you to private message me when you return as to your thoughts if you do go with them. They are mentioned in the newest RS Italy book- I can't imagine him partnering with a group that wasn't fantastic .
It does sound good. But, we prefer to be able to choose what day closer to those dates based on the weather. And if it's an easy trip, we wouldn't mind to do our own thing. i guess I'll make up my mind in a few days and see if I get anymore feedback regarding September crowds. I'll let you know if I decided to go with it.
I would take the bus down to the Amalfi Coast and the ferry back, the bus trip back is usually very crowded and is on the "wrong" side of the road for optimal views. Bus from Sorrento is less crowded the earlier you go.
That sounds like more like we had in mind. If we take the Sita bus and hop off and on as we make our way down to Amalfi and take the last ferry back to Sorrento at 16:35. Do you know if we need to book that ferry in advance?
