Mondo offers Shared Tours ("for Rick Steves") and Shared Trips ("Endorsed by Rick Steves"). Anyone know the difference? They both seem to operate the same way -- group tours that don't run unless a minimum number of people sign up. Thanks!
When it comes down to it, it's all the same. We took 3 last week, 2 were for RS and one was endorsed by RS. Both work with the same concept that they will only run if at least 6 people sign up.
Let me take a stab. A tour has a guide. A trip has a driver. If the group gets to a large size, they will add a guide. For example, we met the Mondo guide at Pompeii for a guided tour full of information. There were six of us.
Meanwhile, along the Amalfi coast, we were in a Mercedes van with seven others. The driver stopped for photos, pointed some things out, drove well, put on good music during the return but didn't have the training and knowledge of a guide.
