Mondo guided tours

Have any of you ever taken the Mondo guided tours That RS suggests? Did you book in advance? We will be staying for a few days in Catania and Sorrento after our Sicily tour and want to see the Amalfi Coast and the Naples Archeological Museum. Many thanks!

We did one of the Rick Steves Mondo guided tours of Pompeii. Mondo is a tour agency offering many tours separate from the Rick Steves Shared ones.
Yes, they must be booked in advance. The RS ones will only operate with a minimum number of people and also have a cap on how many they will take per tour.

Yes, we did a Mondo shared tour of the Amalfi Coast (Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello) on 24 March 2017, departing from Sorrento. I highly recommend it. All arrangements were made by email a few weeks before we left home. In case it is not clear, the vehicle is a very comfortable van (maximum 8 people, I believe). They drop you off in Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello and you are on your own for around 1.5 to 2 hours in each town (the driver tells you when to meet back at the van). The way our tour day (about 10 hours) went, there was enough time to have a sit down lunch in Amalfi and still visit the cathedral. In Ravello, the gardens of Villa Rufolo and view of the Mediterranean were stunning. Most amazing was the price - only 50 Euros per person. To hire a private guide for a full day would run you more than 10X that, based on our experience on a previous trip to Tuscany.
