Mondays in Italy

I'll be traveling to Italy for two weeks at the end of May/beginning of June. I realized I need to make sure the cities I'll be in will have things to see on Monday, since that is often a day where many sights and museums close. I will be leaving Venice on a Sunday morning, traveling to Verona where I will spend four nights (Sunday-Wednesday). I had already planned to do day trips from Verona to Vicenza, Brescia and Mantua. Upon looking at closures, what I came up with was Vicenza, Brescia and Mantua are mostly closed on Monday, Brescia also has sights closed on Tuesday. The only city with things open on Monday is Verona (and I realize that many are closed in the morning, but I can visit churches and other places until the main sights open). So it seems like the puzzle only works this way:

Sunday: Vicenza
Monday: Verona
Tuesday: Mantua
Wednesday: Brescia

Since I'm travelling from Venice towards Verona, making a stop in Vicenza makes total sense. Except that there is no baggage storage at the Vicenza train station. This is where I'm stuck. Is the only option to go all the way to Verona, leave my bags there, and then backtrack to Vicenza for the day? I'd rather not do this, but I don't see any other choice. There's no other way the four cities work out because of closures, and I can't leave my bags in Vicenza. Any other ideas?

A few years ago friends of mine were going to be traveling in Italy like you want to do with a day stop.
There was no bag drop at the small train station. They searched hotels in the town and emailed them asking if they would store the bags for the day for a charge. They did get a positive response from one and it worked out. It might be worth a bit of time sending some emails. Nothing to lose.

Have a great trip!

TRAINS........Jump on a train on Monday morning from Verona and head to Milan. Only 1:15 trip. Rome is only a 3 hour trip. Florence is only a 1:40 trip. Research things to do in Milan, Rome and Florence that either are open on Monday or would be interesting to see without admittance. One of the great things about Europe is the fact you are never far away from something to see because of their trains. Never think you are limited to the city your hotel is located. Good luck and enjoy your trip.

You might check the tourists office, they may have some suggestions.

The train trip from Verona to Vicenza is only 24 minutes via the faster regional trains, and they seem to run every 30 minutes. It won't actually cost you all that much extra time to go on to Verona and drop your bags there. Fortunately, Vicenza is not huge.

Do you already by Padua taken care of? There's a lot to see there.
