We will be arriving on a mid-May Monday afternoon in Rome, what kind of line can we expect for St Peter's Basillica only?
We have seen the Sistine on tours but are on our own this time and never got lots of time inside the church. Thanks
The lines are often shorter very late in the afternoon, and it can be a quieter time to visit (compared to midday). You can check the Vatican website for the hours of the basilica at the time you'll be there. Very early morning, when the Basilica first opens, is also a wonderful time to visit.
