Has anybody done a Monastery stay in Florence. Any recommendations?
Yes. our taxi driver said it was the best location in Florence. you can see the Duomo from the second story. Nice nuns, several from English speaking African countries. We booked on Monasterystays.com Casa per Ferie Suore Oblate Dell’Assunzione, Borgo Pinti
Thks Stephen, i will have a look at that one.
FYI: Monastery Stays adds a service charge (20 euros more a night for the monastery where I stayed in Rome). Better to book directly with the monastery.
I have stayed at Istituto Suore di Santa Elisabetta on Viale Michelangelo. Three times actually. Each time the room itself was different than the time before. Accommodation is spartan, as all of the convents or monastery places will be. No t.v., No a/c. No elevator. A light breakfast was included. I like the location as it is away from the crowds. A beautiful building.
I booked directly with them each time.
