Monastery San Silvestro Cortona

Does anyone here know anything about this property in Cortona? I know that it is outside the city walls - how far? Is it nice? There are four of us visiting for three days and we wanted a place that had some space and free parking. Seems everything in the town that offers "free" parking says its in a lot, no reservations, and makes me a wonder if we could actually find something available that was free. Never been to Cortona, so just don't know what to expect. Suggestions appreciated!

We stayed at the villa Santa Margherita with on-site parking and walkable to the city center. One of our favorite monasteries in Italy available through monasterystays.com

A friend and I stayed here in early September. The property is lovely and Donato is very helpful. There is a parking area on the property with no charge. It is below Cortona and not within walking distance, but there is parking for a fee in designated areas for visits to Cortona. Be sure to plan some down time to enjoy the property as there is a beautiful pool with lounge chairs and our apartment had a table and chairs on the patio. Let me know if you have additional questions. We went shopping at a nearby grocery and prepared a couple meals in the apartment.
