We have stayed at the Franciscan Sanctuary of La Verna in Italy a few years ago and have lost the information on making reservations. Does anyone know if they have an on line address? It may be they only accept faxes or postal addresses. Thanks

Thanks, Ken, but I think your suggestion is a hotel perhaps near La Verna Monastery; this is what I have found on line, that hotels kind of merge their info into the Franciscan monastery and I'm beginning to think I need a fax number and that the the monastery doesn't have a web site. Our stay there five years ago included meals and a very spartan but clean room that was about $50 (after the translation since no one spoke English and our Italian isn't good with figures. We could walk around the grounds at night and it was a spiritual experience and one of beauty. We were the only Americans but while we were there there were two tours that came and went: one Italian and one German who all had their own agenda. We did meet two Italian men who also were "one their own" (not on a tour) and we took a day trip with them in their car. They took us on a scenic drive and had the kitchen pack us a lunch. It was an enchanted day even though they spoke no English; we somehow became good friends in just a few days. Thanks again.
