Monaco to Nice to Eze

We are arriving by cruise ship in Monaco but we want to see the sights on our own. We did some web searching but could not locate where to pick-up a bus to Nice, then from Nice to Eze, and returning to Monaco from Eze. Does anyone have a website or a suggestion where we can find the routes?

Thank you

I do not think you have enuf time for Eze. To do Monaco and alittle bit of Nice is all you have time for. I took the train easily from MOnaco to Nice all walking and easy do not know about bus connections. Eze is up in the corniche and not easy to get to quickly. The main attraction up there is the steep village while lovely it is steep walking with little shops, restaurants and of course the terrific views but you need at least half day IMO.

Is your ship small enough to stop actually in Monaco? Quite a few of the larger ships actually moor down the coast towards Nice in Villefranche sur Mer...

Also, you may get a better answer in the "To the West" part of this board which covers France and Monaco. You have posted in "To the Boot" which is about Italy which, while close, is still 20 km down the coast, and philosophically much further away....

The bus ride from Monaco to Nice may take a long time, even tho it is probably more scenic than the train ride. From the Monaco seafront the train station is up the hill. You could take a taxi to the station. Trains to Nice are inexpensive and will get you there in just a few minutes. Trams and buses in Nice will get you around if walking is a problem. And there is always the option of taking a taxi. I find Nice to be fun and interesting, especially near the water. The Russian Cathedral is worth seeing, but it is a little out-of-the-way from other worthwhile sites.

Patrick,

There's a Bus station at the bottom of the hill as you leave Monaco. As I recall, the fare to Nice is only €1 (or something very cheap).

As the others have said, train would be a faster method of travel (however, bus is possible too). Whichever method you decide on, BE SURE to check the schedules and note the return times to Monaco (so that you don't miss your ship!).

As the others have indicated, travel to Eze might be "pushing it" a bit. There's more than enough to see in Monaco and Nice to keep you busy for a day.

Happy travels!
