moderately priced accommodation in Venice

I'm looking for a moderately priced hotel or other accommodation in a reasonable location in Venice for a trip in October. I'm interested in a twin room for no more than about $150 per night. Any suggestions?

Not sure what you consider modestly priced (to me, that's about 70-80 euro a night, to you, it could mean 120 euro a night). Or what your standards are...hostel...B&B...4 star? Been to Venice 3 times and have stayed here all three times...

Very easy to get to off the vaporetto...like, a minute down an alley and there you are. We stayed in the standard double, with a private bathroom across the hall. I think we paid about 70 euro (give or take a few) in mid-Sept. Marco is a really nice fellow, and there is a nice breakfast served - cereal, juice, breads, croissants, cheese, coffee/tea. It's small, no canal views, quiet...and a chocolate shop across the alley which smells divine! We are going back again this Sept, but even a month and a half ago, he was already booked for when we wanted to stay, so I went with an airbnb. Stairs, no elevator, and a nice view from the rooftop deck.

By "twin room", do you mean a room for two with two twin beds? Or a room for one, with one twin bed?

Howell,

Last June, we stayed at Alloggi Barbaria in Venice. We paid 110 euro a night for a room for 2 with a private bath. This is a no frills location run by a very kind and helpful family. There are no canal views but a cute square nearby. Breakfast was included and served on a pretty, little balcony. It is near the Ospedale vaporetto (#5.2) stop. We found the location convenient.

Enjoy Venice!
