"modest" wear at churches

stupid question but: capri pants are ok?

As I remember, they are. The churches are most concerned with below the knees and cover the shoulders. The Catholic Church doesn't change much over the centuries.

Yup - they're fine. We just returned from our trip to Italy and I wore capris or knee length skirts to the churches and it was fine.

Yes, knees covered is fine.

Don't forget your shoulders and midriff also need to be covered. If you wear a sleeveless top, take a sweater or something to cover up during your time in the church.

Sandals are okay.

What to wear in churches would be an excellent addition to the new FAQ thread.

Patrick: Thank you for your interest in our new FAQ. Yes, that would be an excellent addition. Unfortunately, the FAQ topic, as currently written, is already right up against the 2000 character limit for posts on this site. So nothing more can be added, without deleting something already there.

I could easily double or triple the size of the FAQ (which I wrote last week and which the Webmaster has now okayed as the 3rd pseudo-sticky).
