Moderately price rooms in Rome

Rome's main train station is Termini and the Termini area has been the subject of a gazillion (1,000 bazillions) of recommendations posted on this Helpline for cost friendly hotels. Define moderately? It has no meaning unless you put a number on it.

It helps to be as specific as possible. And yes, by all means, get a current RS Italy guidebook because it is worth every penny in working out various details. Definitely put a number to YOUR definition of moderately priced. Additionally, "moderately priced" can also be relative to travel dates/season. AFter all, moderately priced for September travel is many dollars more expensive than moderately priced in late November... We stayed in a 4-star hotel in Rome in mid-March earlier this year for basically the cost of our normal 2-3 star choices, so you can see how seasonality makes a difference, as well as any current, applicable promotions.

And remember that the star rating in Italy is NOT an indication of quality - It's an indication of amenities available (e.g. elevator, 24 hr front desk, parking).

I liked the Hotel Italia, on Via Venezia 18. It's 2-star, I think, had evrything I needed, free wifi, tile shower, AC, good location, adequate breakfast, very clean.
