Moderate Hotel/B & B recommend for Verona?

Hi, am planning to be in Verona in mid-October. Can you recommend a moderately priced small hotel or B & B in Verona. No special needs, just a clean, bright, and conveniently located place will do! Thank you so much! Karen

We loved this hotel last summer. One of the doubles has a lovely roof terrace if you can request that one - go for it. Currently listed at 76 euro per night on Booking.com but contact them directly.

Hotel Torcolo is about as central a location as one could want. It is very close to Piazza Bra, the coliseum, and other points of interest. Location is not super important as Verona is small enough to walk everywhere.

We just returned from Verona this evening. Not sure what your definition of moderately priced is, but we rented a 1 bedroom apartment for 2 nights on booking.com for about $150 a night. About a 10 minute walk from the train station, and about 10 minutes to Piazza Brà. In a newer building but was bright, had a balcony, and large bathroom and s in a secure apartment building with elevator We Added a third night directly with property, for which we paid only €90 cash upon arrival. The property name is Home Suite Home.

We stayed at Residenza Carducci and enjoyed it so much that we planned a longer trip to Verona and then stayed there again. You will never get a better breakfast than the one Giovanna serves: http://www.residenzacarducci.com/suites_verona_en.htm

It's in Veronetta which is just across the river from the historic center.

Karen,

I'm not sure what you consider "moderately priced", but I would highly recommend the Hotel Europa in Verona. It's only a short walk to Piazza Bra and the Roman Amphitheatre, and there are lots of restaurants nearby. Hotel Torcolo is also very popular with many here, although I've never stayed there.

You shouldn't have any trouble getting a room in mid-October, as Opera season should be finished for the year.
