Modena balsalmic vinegar tours ?

I am currently in Italy until sunday. Was in Assisi and outside of Sienna for a week now we are in Reggio Emilia. On Saturday we wanted to do a 1/2 day tour but I cant find anything. Can someone suggest something to me? I have a car so I can get there without a problem. btw Tuscany is beautiful...I will be back. :)

Hi Susanne,
Any tips to pass along as I will be outside of Sienna for the first time at the beginning of May.

Here is what I did last fall. Call Giorgio (Acetaia di Giorgio) at39-059-333-015. They run an old family balsamic vinegar place. They will show you the process, and at the end let you taste different flavors. It was WONDERFUL and I bought a bottle of their aged vinegar.

If you have time also visit a paramsan cheese factory. It has to be organized by the consortia Del formaggio, and they will schedule it with a factory/latteria. This was a 2 hr tour, but these two were a highlight. Your tour will be early in the morning (we had to be there by 8:15am) as that's when they make the cheese. It was very interesting and great photos. Google Consorzio del Formaggio Parma-Reggiano.

Carolyn, we just got back from this place and it was nice. The girl explained everything to us and took her time as well. Very pleasant. We had a hard time finding it but if you just continue straight it will pop up on the right side lol. Since we bought a few things they did not charge us for the tour, sweets, a glass of wine or sparkling water. Very customer friendly! http://www.acetaialeonardi.it/ing/contatti.php
