Is it safe to travel to Modena and Parma since the earthquake?
Beth, No one can say for sure. Earthquakes cannot be predicte- if that is your fear . One could happen again. I'm not in Italy right now, haven't been to this region in a few years. That being said, I'm sure there is still a lot of clean up going on and there might be some issues in the towns hardest hit. Your tourist dollars would be great for the economy . If you are planning your trip right now, I can recommend Modena. We visited there and it was beautiful. You must buy Balsamic vinegar when there!
Thanks for the reply! I am more concerned about whether we would be allowed in Modena and would we get in the way of rebuilding? Is the historic area devastated or still open?
