Looking for feedback from anyone that has bought a eSIM for a trip to the UK. The change from a physical SIM to a digital one is supposed to be easy but from what I read availability of plans and getting the eSIM itself may not be that easy for an arriving tourist. I have bought SIM cards on previous trips and it’s a simple process.
You have posted a question about the UK in the Italy forum. I suggest that you repost.
My bad. Thought I was creating a new topic. While my travel is planned for the UK, this is relevant for any destination in Europe.
I did not have any luck finding an eSIM plan with talk/text/data in the UK. One plan was data only, other plans were subscription only not fixed time or pay as you go.
My solution was to have Verizon transfer my US number to the eSIM slot so I could use the physical SIM slot for a UK SIM card. I got a giffgaff SIM, unlimited talk/text within the UK and various amounts of data good for 30 days. I think I paid £15 for 20GB data.
