auto cancelled? Broke my wrist and will not make our trains tomorrow. Will my return booking be automatically cancelled like it is with the airlines? Thanks !
Sorry to hear of your injury. I do not think the second portion will be cancelled. You can call them and see if the outbound can be salvaged in any way.
Doubt it will be canceled (unlike an airline ticket), but breaking my wrist while on a trip would probably cloud out much concern for the train ticket. Breaking my wrist at home in March was bad enough. I hope yours heals as well as mine did (I didn't need surgery). Good luck!
What level ticket do you have? Some levels allow changes in the ticket as long as you approach them before travel, some levels are non-refund, non-change.
The two tickets do not depend on each other.
Sorry to hear.
Where are you traveling to and from?
The return trip shouldn't be cancelled. You might want to call them just to make certain or stop into the station to check.

With Italo you can change all classes of outbound tickets up to 3 minutes before scheduled departure. The change fee is 20% for Economy and 50% for Low Cost, with no change fee for Flex. If you change the outbound departure day/time, that would do away with any concerns about the return.
I broke my wrist in Nice a couple years ago. A wrist brace, liberal use of ibuprofen, and frequent dosing of wine and cognac helped my baby it along for almost 2 1/2 weeks until I got back home and had surgery. Think of it as a souvenir or trophy that others won't have.
Reporting back. It doesn't look like they track it. Half of our party used the original ticket.
Re the wrist - I spent 38 hours in the e.r. before they were able to find a hospital who could do the surgery. It was an interesting cultural experience. I have surgery Monday.
heal well and quickly (well as quickly as you can)
How are you paying? Will your insurance cover? Keep us posted. For those of us who travel, your experience will be interesting.
I hope all goes well in your surgery, and that you are comfortable and getting something out of this somewhat unfortunate situation.
Oh, no! I am sorry! Hope all goes well with the surgery. Definitely report back!
